Hi, My Name is: Anthony Henry

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Anthony Henry. Born on Nov. 3, 1976 in Fort Myers, Fla. Maybe you've never heard of him, and who can blame you? He's played for the Browns his whole career, but that dosen't make him a bad player. In his 2001 rookie year, he had 44 tackles, and 10 interceptions, starting in all 16 games. In 2003, he emerged as the starting left corner opposite Daylon McCutcheon, with 56 tackles and 1 interception. He donates his time to various Cleveland area charitable causes, including the Taste of the NFL to benefit the Cleveland Foodbank, visiting patients at the Cleveland Clinic, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Special Olympics and building a playground for the United Way. He is expected to start this year at the #2 CB position, opposite Terrence Newman. Posted by Hello

Posted by Hello

Ah, Drew Bledsoe. You may remember him from such teams as: The Patriots from 93-2001, and the Bills from 2002-2004. Recognized as one of the most accurate QB's in the league today, Bledsoe was the first Free Agent acquisition by the Cowboys this offseason. Born on Feb 14, 1972 (that's right, the same day as Jim Kelly) in Ellenburg WA.n He wasselected first-team all-state by the Tacoma News Tribune after senior year at Walla Walla High, named to numerous local and regional all-star teams, including the Western 100, Northwest Nugget, Super Prep's Far West Offensive Player of the Year, Long Beach Press Telegram "Best of the West," Seattle Times Blue Chip and Washington State Player of the Year honors. He recieved a $150,000 football scholarship to Washington State, where he set the second-place record for all-time passing in Washigton with 7,373 yards, despite starting only 28 games. He was drafted by the Pats in 1993, and the rest is history. He founded the Drew Bledsoe Foundation, whose mission is to improve the lives of American children by teaching parenting skills to parents in 1999. He also has his own children's book published entitled "Make the Right Call".

Cory Hall, who is going to visit. Posted by Hello

Dallas needs help at the FS position. Duh. They want to keep Roy W. where he is comfortable (striking fear into the hearts of everyone that comes within a 10 foot radius) so they can be a more effective unit. They seek to help this by visiting with former Falcons S Cory Hall. He started 13 of the 14 games he played in 2004, but had just 1 int. and 60 tackles. If he is not signed, look for some combo of Lynn Scott, Keith Davis, and Justin Beriault on running downs.

In other news, the Cowboys must have figured "we signed Baseball players (Henson, Quincy carter) so why not basketball players?" The Cownboys signed former Duke basketball player and WR Reggie Love. I, being from Maryland, hate Duke with the passion of 1,000 fiery STD's, but I have no say in the hiring. If I did, we would have Peter Boulware right now. But anyway, the plan is to move him to LB, but don't worry, it is said he will make the practive sqaud at best.

BULLITEN
Look for the start of what I like to call "Hello, my name is..." in the next week or so. I'll go over the 'Boys FA signing, as well as draft picks. see ya then.

ReShard Lee, no longer a Cowboy Posted by Hello

ReShard Lee, the Cowboy's RB who returned kicks and filled in for the injured Erik Bickerstaff last year, was released to make room in the backfield. It is speculated that Woody Danztler (S) and Marion Barber, the rookie RB will return kicks and punts this year. Also, Happy Cinco De Mayo.

Anthony Thomas, now a Cowboy. Who's next? Posted by Hello

The Cowboys have just recently signed Anthony Thomas, the former Bears running back who has been over-shadowed by the signing of Thomas Jones last year. Thomas was named the 2001 Offensive Rookie of the Year, in which he rushed for over 1,100 yrds. and scored 7 TD's. This will certainly add a lot of depth and rotation to the Cowboys backfield, now with Julius Jones, A-Train, Marion Barber, Erik Bickerstaff, and ReShard Lee. The only question is, who will the Boys scoop up next?
