Cowboys Hire Bruce Read As Special Teams Coach
The Dallas Cowboys hired former Oregon State assistant Bruce Read on Thursday to coach special teams on Wade Phillips' staff.Read, who spent the past three years in the same role at Oregon State, is the sixth coach Phillips has added since taking over for Bill Parcells this month.
The Cowboys are the third NFL stop for Read, who also coached special team at San Diego from 1999-2001 and for the New York Giants in 2002 and 2003. He replaces Bruce DeHaven, who left after last season to coach special teams for Seattle.
