Romo under Texas-sized pressure to excel

Monday, April 30th, 2007
Quinn, though vastly overrated during his career with the Irish, has a chance to be a franchise QB for the Browns. If Romo struggles this year, Dallas will no doubt be looking to next April's draft for an answer under center. And that's an answer the Cowboys may have let slip away this past Saturday.

‘Boys Trade For Spencer, Cleveland’s No. 1 in ‘08

Saturday, April 28th, 2007
The Dallas Cowboys didn't need Bill Parcells at this draft. Jerry Jones was back in his element.

With their No. 22 pick in the first round becoming a hot commodity, Jones reverted to the riverboat-gambler mode that has long served him well, from his years in the oil business to his early days running the Cowboys. Two trades later, Dallas wound up with pass-rushing linebacker Anthony Spencer of Purdue and next year's No. 1 pick from Cleveland.

Spencer was one of the players the Cowboys were eyeing at No. 22, so they didn't lose anything there. And considering how bad the Browns have been in recent years, their top pick in 2008 could be near the top of the draft.

Cowboys Re-Sign Free Agent Receiver

Thursday, April 5th, 2007
The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed restricted free agent Patrick Crayton.

Crayton will remain the number three receiver -- behind Terrell (TER'-el) Owens and Terry Glenn.

The Cowboys offered Crayton a one-year, one-point-three (M) million dollar offer to remain with the team.

Crayton played in all 16 games last season, his third with the Cowboys since being a seventh-round pick out of Northwestern Oklahoma State in 2004.

It’s April: Time for another mock draft

1. OAKLAND RAIDERS: JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU. Does Russell really love football with his whole heart and his whole soul? Who cares? Brady Quinn will make someone a nice NFL quarterback, but Russell is a freak of nature -- Vince Young with a stronger arm, Daunte Culpepper before his knees went south.
